<p>President Barack Obama told reporter Robin Roberts last week that his thinking has âevolvedâ into support for same-sex marriage. His words conjure up imagery of a brooding, contemplative president, seeking the advice of friends and associates and finally coming to a new conclusion three years later. I donât believe it for a minute. He stated as far back as 1996 that he was in favor of gay marriage and then flip-flopped on the issue when he ran for president. His new position sounds more like a political calculation in an election year.</p>
<p>The presidentâs evolution of gay marriage also lacks credibility because of his consistent support for the gay and lesbian agenda. He opposed âDonât Ask, Donât Tellâ for military personnel and ordered his Justice Department not to fight for the Defense of Marriage Act in court. Then on Monday, Obama declared that he now wants DOMA repealed. The president hasnât opposed LGBT activists on any substantive issue since taking office. Now that he is seeking re-election and has been smoked out by Vice President Biden, he apparently decided it was time to reveal what he has believed about same-sex marriage all along.</p>
<p>The presidentâs statement also lacks internal consistency. He said he favors each stateâs right to determine the definition of marriage â yet isnât that precisely what the people of North Carolina did last week? Was their vote of 61 to 39 percent in favor of traditional marriage a fluke, or was it the result of the citizens of North Carolina making their own choice?</p>
<p>And speaking of statesâ rights to define marriage, wouldnât that wreak havoc on individual families? Imagine the chaos of a couple being married in Texas but not married in Arkansas, or being married in Arizona and not married in Massachusetts. Children in one state would be legitimate, but would be the product of unmarried parents in the next. And what about the jurisdiction of the federal and state courts? Could they continue to override the will of the people, as did the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in California? And what about inheritance issues from state to state? You would think the president of the United States would have thought through his position and its implications before impulsively making it known to the nation. If traditional marriage is not the law of the land, the institution of the family will cease to exist.</p>
<p>Finally, this story has been mishandled by the biased news media, as usual. Even Fox News, notably Shepard Smith, told its viewers for weeks that the nation was shifting dramatically in the direction of same-sex marriage. That is palpably untrue. North Carolina and 31 other states have now voted on the definition of marriage, and every one of them has affirmed it as being exclusively between one man and one woman. There have been no exceptions. Mr. Smith never acknowledged that fact and said instead that the president was at last on the âright side of history.â Really, Mr. Smith? Traditional marriage has been the cultural norm on every continent on earth for 8,000 years, even in Greece and Rome.</p>
<p>Mr. President, I hope you live to regret ripping into the institution of marriage, which has been foundational to the social order of all nations. It must continue to be protected in law and practice if the family is to survive in this shock-wave world.</p>

<address>The Obama White House is drawing ridicule for appending the official online biographies of nearly every president over the last century in order to link President Obama&#8217;s accomplishments to the former commanders in chief.The Obama team went into the <a href="http://www.whitehouse.gov/about/presidents" target="_blank"><strong>pages of U.S. presidents</strong></a> dating back to Calvin Coolidge to add friendly looking &#8220;Did you know?&#8221; fact boxes to the end of their bios. Those additions were used to plug a host of Obama administration initiatives, ranging from the health care overhaul to the so-called &#8220;Buffett Rule&#8221; to his green-energy policies.</p>
<p>For instance, the following line was added to the official bio of the late President Ronald Reagan: &#8220;In a June 28, 1985, speech, Reagan called for a fairer tax code, one where a multimillionaire did not have a lower tax rate than his secretary. Today, President Obama is calling for the same with the Buffett Rule.&#8221;</p>
<p>The White House is coming under heavy criticism from conservatives for the changes, and not just to Reagan&#8217;s page.</p>
<p>Late Tuesday, the White House defended itself, claiming the staff was merely adding links to other pages.</p>
<p>&#8220;No biographies have been altered,&#8221; a White House official told Fox News. &#8220;We simply added links at the bottom of each page to related whitehouse.gov content, which is a commonly used best practice to encourage people to browse more pages on a site.&#8221;</p>
<p>The additions do include links, but they&#8217;re more than that. Each one finds a way to tout an Obama administration policy or practice in the process.</p>
<p>There&#8217;s this at the bottom of the Franklin D. Roosevelt biography, for instance:</p>
<p>&#8220;On August 14, 1935, President Roosevelt signed the Social Security Act. Today the Obama administration continues to protect seniors and ensure Social Security will be there for future generations.&#8221;</p>
<p>And this, at the end of President Lyndon Johnson&#8217;s, drawing a link between his signing of Medicare and Obama&#8217;s signing of the health care overhaul:</p>
<p>&#8220;President Lyndon Johnson signed Medicare into law in 1965 &#8212; providing millions of elderly health care stability. President Obama&#8217;s historic health care reform law, the Affordable Care Act, strengthens Medicare, offers eligible seniors a range of preventive services with no cost-sharing, and provides discounts on drugs when in the coverage gap known as the &#8216;donut hole.&#8217;&#8221;</p>
<p>The changes also link Harry Truman&#8217;s call for civil rights to the Obama administration&#8217;s push to repeal &#8220;don&#8217;t ask, don&#8217;t tell.&#8221; And they link Jimmy Carter&#8217;s creation of the Department of Energy to Obama&#8217;s push for an &#8220;all of the above&#8221; energy approach today.</p>
<p>The Obama accomplishments cited range from the significant to the mundane.</p>
<p>On the bio of John F. Kennedy, the Obama staff cited the current president&#8217;s decision to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Peace Corps with a &#8220;presidential proclamation,&#8221; as a way to link the current administration to Kennedy&#8217;s &#8212; which launched the Peace Corps.</p>
<p>The only post-Coolidge president whose page is so far untouched is that of Gerald Ford.</p>
<p>Conservative blogs and publications ripped the White House Tuesday for the move, even starting a Twitter hashtag <a href="http://twitter.com/#!/search?q=%23ObamaInHistory" target="_blank"><strong>#ObamaInHistory</strong></a> to mock him. The Republican National Committee launched a tumblr page called: &#8220;Obama in History &#8212; World Changing Events You Didn&#8217;t Know Obama Played A Part In.&#8221;</p>
<p>The page goes on to show pictures of Obama standing with historical figures ranging from Einstein to Elvis to The Beatles. It also shows Obama at the Berlin Wall and Stonehenge.</p>

<p>California has become a nightmare. The beauty is still there in the majestic hills, the rolling meadows, and the breathtaking canyons. Itâs too bad that the whackos have spoiled the state, turning it into an incubator for all thatâs wrong with liberalism. Itâs no wonder that California is one of the <a href="http://www.thumbtack.com/survey">least business-friendly states</a> in America. On regulations, employment, labor, hiring, tax code, and licensing, it gets an F and a D on ease of starting a business.</p>
<p>While getting ready for a business meeting, I turned to a news channel and saw California Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom and Art Laffer, Supply-Side advocate and author of <em>Eureka!: The Way to Fix California</em>, being interviewed by Larry Kudlow on âThe Kudlow Report.â They were talking about how to fix Californiaâs $16 billion budget shortfall.</p>
<p>Gov. Jerry Brown wants to trim some programs (a good idea) and raise taxes (a bad idea).</p>
<p>Lafferâs comment was on the money: âYou canât tax a state into prosperity.â Kudlow wanted to know how New Jersey could get its budgetary house in order without raising taxes but California couldnât. Even Puerto Rico was able to do it.</p>
<p>When Luis Fortuno became governor in 2009 the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico didnât have enough money to pay its bills. The first thing the new administration did was to cut 17,000 government workers, freeze all salaries, and cut government spending by 20 percent.</p>
<p>As expected there were protests in the streets. The governor held firm. He knew that a little pain now would result in great benefits in the future. He didnât stop with cuts to government employee waste. He went on to cut corporate taxes and state income taxes.</p>
<p>Now that Puerto Rico is a tax-friendly region, businesses are moving in. As <a href="http://www.foxbusiness.com/on-air/stossel/blog/2011/06/10/puerto-rican-reforms-money-hole-8pm-et#ixzz1v2Oy9kPD">John Stossel</a> reports, âWal-Mart, CostCo, Coca-Cola, and pharmaceutical companies are moving to or expanding in Puerto Rico. Soon, they will provide thousands of new jobs.â</p>
<p>Gov. Brown wants the people of the California to vote for a âtemporaryâ tax increase. The people who will vote yes will be voting to tax the other guy, spending will still go up, and the tax increase will become permanent.</p>
<p>What will businesses do if Californians vote for a tax increase âon the richâ? Move to more tax-friendly states. They might even try Puerto Rico.</p>

<p>On Monday, Barack Obama attended a campaign fundraising event hosted by Blackstoneâs chief operating officer Hamilton E James. According to Blackstoneâs webpage,</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>While Obama was holding out his âI want your moneyâ hand to the private equity business world, his campaign was launching a new ad that attacked Mitt Romneyâs record of when he worked for Bain Capital. And what does Bain Capital do? They do pretty much the same thing that Blackstone does â private equity. By condemning Romney for working in the private equity world he is condemning the entire private equity business world as well.</p>
<p>So let me get this straight, Obama condemns Romney for working in the private equity world at the same time he asks the same industry for money for his campaign. Folks, this is an example of a person that has no moral sense of value or decency for anyone else. His obvious hypocrisy should be a wake up call to all of his supporters as he really doesnât care about them either, as so many of his socialist policies have proven. Obama has no problem taking your money with one hand while he holds a knife in the other with which he is about to plunge into your back.</p>

<p>This isnât the first time wayward judges have displayed their ignorance of history and the meaning of the Constitution. Wisconsin U.S. District Judge Barbara B. Crabb ruled that âthe government has taken sides on a matter that must be left to individual conscience. . . . The government may not use its authority to try to influence an individualâs decision whether and when to pray.â She and the Colorado judges need a history lesson from the Founders who drafted the First Amendment and also called for national days of prayer and thanksgiving.</p>
<p>In 1789, the same day the wording of the First Amendment had been finalized, Congress called on President Washington to declare a national day of prayer and thanksgiving. The proclamation stated that âit is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor.â</p>
<p>John Adams, in his 1798 Proclamation, stated something similar:</p>
<p>[T]he safety and prosperity of nations ultimately and essentially depend on the protection and blessing of Almighty God; and the national acknowledgment of this truth is . . . an indispensable duty which the people owe to Him.</p>
<p>Then there are the official documents that called for national days of prayer. <p>Hereâs a proclamation from 1799, more than ten years after the Constitution was drafted, during the administration of John Adams:</p>

<p>National days of prayer and thanksgiving have been a part of our nationâs history before its founding, during its founding, and since its founding.</p>

<p>Ministry says: âThey All had a Heart for this GenerationâŠâ</p>

<p><strong><!-- Begin Google Mouseover --><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a title="http://www.assistnews.net/google_map.asp?place=GARDEN VALLEY, TEXAS" href="http://www.assistnews.net/google_map.asp?place=GARDEN VALLEY, TEXAS" target="_blank"><!-- End Google Mouseover -->GARDEN VALLEY, TEXAS </a></span></strong><span style="font-size: x-small;"><strong>(ANS) </strong>&#8211; </span>Five individuals associated with Teen Mania Ministries on board a flight to Acquire The Fire in Council Bluffs, Iowa were involved in a plane crash around 4:30 p.m. May 11.</p>
<p>According to the ministry, the plane went down in rural southeastern Kansas, and three of the five on board died at the scene.</p>
<p>Teen Mania is asking for prayers for the families of Luke Sheets, 23 of Ephraim, WI.; Garrett Coble, 29 of Tulsa, OK.; and Stephen Luth, 27 of Muscatine, IA.</p>
<p>The ministry says all three were graduates of Oral Roberts University. Coble was a long-time friend of Teen Mania Ministries, having served on 15 Global Expeditions missions trips. He also served as a professor at Northeastern State University in Broken Arrow, OK.</p>
<p>Hannah Luce, daughter of Teen Mania founder Ron Luce, and Austin Anderson were also aboard the plane when it crashed and were able to walk to a nearby roadway and get help. However, both Hannah Luce and Anderson suffered severe injuries and were evacuated to hospitals in Kansas City and Wichita, respectively.</p>
<p>Luce is listed in serious but stable condition, suffering primarily from burns on 28 percent of her body. Sadly, Anderson succumbed to his injuries at 5:30 a.m Saturday, May 12 and went to be with the Lord.</p>
<p>Both Anderson and Stephen Luth were recently hired to the marketing staff at Teen Mania Ministries. Anderson had recently graduated from Oral Roberts University with a degree in business administration and had served two tours of duty with the U.S. Marine Corps in Iraq.</p>

<p>Someone (Franklin Graham) described President Obama&#8217;s announcement that he is in favor of homosexual &#8220;marriage&#8221; as &#8220;shaking his fist at God.&#8221; I agree. There are many things in politics where good people can disagree or perhaps the Bible does not speak to specifically &#8211; but marriage is not one of them.</p>
<p>In the Gospel of Matthew 19:4-6, Jesus said: &#8220;Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, &#8216;Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh&#8217;? So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.&#8221;</p>
<p>So far, 32 states have voted on this issue and 32 states have said no to homosexual marriage and yes to natural marriage as being between a man and a woman. This is good news the liberal media does not want to talk about. North Carolina recently voted 61% to 39% in favor of natural marriage even after all the propaganda from the other side.</p>

<p>After a controversial campaign week when Barack Obama muddied the waters by endorsing homosexual âmarriage,â he revved up a weekend effort to provide Motherâs Day e-cards to moms across the country.</p>
<p>He also issued a statement regarding Motherâs Day. But the result, according to Independent Womenâs Forum chief Sabrina Schaeffer, was a âpretty lousy Motherâs Day greeting.â</p>
<p>Thatâs because it was politicized, she said.</p>
<p>At the <a href="http://www.whitehouse.gov/">White House website,</a> visitors had the option of sending out Motherâs Day e-cards to, according to the site, âhelp you show some appreciation for the mom in your life.â</p>
<p>Two templates were offered to be sent through email, Twitter, or Facebook. One touted Obamaâs Affordable Care Act with the caption âBeing a mom isnât a pre-existing conditionâ and the other was offered as thanks to the 1.2 military spouses across the country.</p>
<p>This comes in the context of womenâs issues as a political flashpoint. From the debate over Rush Limbaughâs comments about Sandra Fluke to the rhetoric claiming conservatives are pursuing a âwar on women,â Obamaâs focus on womenâs issues has been called pandering. Fifty-six percent of female voters supported Obama in 2008.</p>
<p><a href="http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2012/05/14/transcript-of-obamas-barnard-college-commencement-address/">Today </a>he gave the commencement speech at the all-female Barnard College in New York City.</p>
<p>While e-cards are new, many presidents have issued <a href="http://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/ws/index.php#axzz1usGxs4YX">Motherâs Day proclamations</a> over the years.</p>
<p>In a 211-word statement issued May 3, 1934, Franklin Roosevelt urged Americans to provide mothers everywhere with the affection they deserve. He called for the âcustomary display of the United States flag on all government buildings, homes, and other suitable places.â</p>
<p>Most other presidents have offered yearly Motherâs Day proclamations. Up until Bill Clintonâs second proclamation, every president urged the display of the flag. Every proclamation since then has urged âappropriate programs, ceremonies, and activities.â</p>
<p>But starting last year, Obama became the first president to cite his own political achievements in the document. The proclamations were reviewed at UC-Santa Barbaraâs âThe American presidency Project.â</p>
<p>In his 2011 proclamation, Obama wrote in a 625-word document, âWe are striving to help mothers in the workplace by enforcing equal pay laws and addressing workplace flexibility as families balance the demands of work, child and elder care, and education.â</p>
<p>Most Motherâs Day proclamations pay homage to mothers and their importance in shaping the nation, such as Ronald Reaganâs 1981 address when he wrote of mothers: âThey shape the character of our people through the love and nurture of their children. It is the strength they give their families that keeps our nation strong.â</p>
<p>But Obama repeatedly has promoted his political positions.</p>
<p>He has mentioned his Child Care Tax Credit, the Earned Income Tax Credit, and the First Ladyâs âLetâs Move!â campaign.</p>
<p>In his proclamation this year, Obama talked about his Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act which, he writes, âcontinues to help women secure equal pay for equal work, and my administration continues to promote workplace flexibility so no mother has to choose between her job and her child.â</p>
<p>Obama also mentions his Affordable Care Act and the White House Council on Women and Girls.</p>
<p>The IWFâs Schaeffer told WND, âItâs unfortunate that the president used Motherâs Day as a way of furthering the âWar on Womenâ narrative. Sadly, this White House â and the White House Council on Women and Girls â helps fuel the insidious myth that women are a victim class in need of special protection from government.</p>
<p>âThe Obama administration loves to tout the Lilly Ledbetter Act as a great accomplishment for women. The fact is, however, protective laws like this actually increase the cost of employing women â especially women of childbearing age â by creating the threat of lawsuits and uncertainty,â she said.</p>
<p>âInstead of recognizing womenâs accomplishments, Mr. Obama continues to advance the notion that the workplace and society are openly hostile to women. <strong>And thatâs a pretty lousy Motherâs Day greeting.â</strong></p>

<p>The increasingly controversial Federal Reserve offered a green light on Wednesday for banks controlled by the Communist Chinese dictatorship to gobble up American financial institutions and enter the U.S. banking market despite national security concerns, sparking warnings among critics about the rapid spread of the brutal regimeâs influence within America. Analysts, meanwhile, called the unprecedented approval a âlandmark stepâ for regulators that could have global implications.</p>
<p>Under the U.S. central bankâs decision, the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), the largest bank in the Communist Party-run country with assets estimated at some $2.5 trillion, will be allowed to become a holding company and acquire the Bank of East Asia in New York. It marks the first time that a Communist Chinese bank â ICBC is more than 70 percent owned by the regime â has been permitted to take over an American bank. All 13 branches of the U.S. institution will be taken over.</p>
<p>As part of the deal, U.S. authorities also granted bank holding company status to the regimeâs sovereign wealth fund, China Investment Corp, which participated in the deal. Central Huijin Investment, which holds the regimeâs shares in ICBC, was approved for the classification as well. And according to analysts, Wednesdayâs decision by the Fed is just the beginning.</p>

<div><strong>The Truth About the Health Care Bills &#8211; Michael Connelly, Ret. Constitutional Attorney</strong></div>
<div><strong>Well, I have done it! ; I have read the entire text of proposed House Bill 3200: The Affordable Health Care Choices Act of 2009. I studied it with particular emphasis from my area of expertise, constitutional law. I was frankly concerned that parts of the proposed law that were being discussed might be unconstitutional. What I found was far worse than what I had heard or expected.</strong></div>
<div>Â </div>
<div><strong>To begin with, much of what has been said about the law and its implications is in fact true, despite what the Democrats and the media are saying. The law does provide for rationing of health care, particularly where senior citizens and other classes of citizens are involved, free health care for illegal immigrants, free abortion services, and probably forced participation in abortions by members of the medical profession.</strong></div>
<div><strong></strong>Â </div>
<div><strong>The Bill will also eventually force private insurance companies out of business, and put everyone into a government run system. All decisions about personal health care will ultimately be made by federal bureaucrats, and most of them will not be health care professionals. Hospital admissions, payments to physicians, and allocations of necessary medical devices will be strictly controlled by the government.</strong></div>
<div><strong></strong>Â </div>
<div><strong>However, as scary as all of that is, it just scratches the surface. In fact, I have concluded that this legislation really has no intention of providing affordable health care choices. Instead it is a convenient cover for the most massive transfer of power to the Executive Branch of government that has ever occurred, or even been contemplated If this law or a similar one is adopted, major portions of the Constitution of the United States will effectively have been destroyed.</strong></div>
<div><strong></strong>Â </div>
<div><strong>The first thing to go will be the masterfully crafted balance of power between the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches of the U.S. Government. The Congress will be transferring to the Obama Administration authority in a number of different areas over the lives of the American people, and the businesses they own.</strong></div>
<div><strong></strong>Â </div>
<div><strong>The irony is that the Congress doesn&#8217;t have any authority to legislate in most of those areas to begin with! I defy anyone to read the text of the U.S. Constitution and find any authority granted to the members of Congress to regulate health care.</strong></div>
<div><strong></strong>Â </div>
<div><strong>This legislation also provides for access, by the appointees of the Obama administration, of all of your personal healthcare direct vi olation of the specific provisions of the 4th Amendment to the Constitution information, your personal financial information, and the information of your employer, physician, and hospital. All of this is a protecting against unreasonable searches and seizures. You can also forget about the right to privacy. That will have been legislated into oblivion regardless of what the 3rd and 4th Amendments may provide&#8230;</strong></div>
<div><strong></strong>Â </div>
<div><strong>If you decide not to have healthcare insurance, or if you have private insurance that is not deemed acceptable to the Health Choices Administrator appointed by Obama, there will be a tax imposed on you. It is called a tax instead of a fine because of the intent to avoid application of the due process clause of the 5th Amendment. However, that doesn&#8217;t work because since there is nothing in the law that allows you to contest or appeal the imposition of the tax, it is definitely depriving someone of property without the due process of law.</strong></div>
<div><strong></strong>Â </div>
<div><strong>So, there are three of those pesky amendments that the far left hate so much, out the original ten in the Bill of Rights, that are effectively nullified by this law It doesn&#8217;t stop there though.</strong></div>
<div><strong></strong>Â </div>
<div><strong>The 9th Amendment that provides: The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people; The 10th Amendment states: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are preserved to the States respectively, or to the people. Under the provisions of this piece of Congressional handiwork neither the people nor the states are going to have any ri ghts or powers at all in many areas that once were theirs to control.</strong></div>
<div><strong></strong>Â </div>
<div><strong>I could write many more pages about this legislation, but I think you get the idea. This is not about health care; it is about seizing power and limiting rights&#8230; Article 6 of the Constitution requires the members of both houses of Congress to &#8220;be bound by oath or affirmation to support the Constitution.&#8221; If I was a member of Congress I would not be able to vote for this legislation or anything like it, without feeling I was violating that sacred oath or affirmation. If I voted for it anyway, I would hope the American people would hold me accountable.</strong></div>
<div><strong></strong>Â </div>
